Good stuff!

Delivers on what it promises. Great for high gain tone, and produces harmonics very easily. Pairs well with the Generator neck.

love the octane

Cannot get enough of this pick up!
Got this as part of an upgrade project for a Benton Ex76 and I’m glad I did.
A lot of gain without loosing crunch, along with a great tone and rich harmonics.

Paired with the Generator neck, which complements the octane very well.
Will be looking at other tone rider pick ups on future projects.

awesome pickup

Replaced my Ibanez’s bridge pickup with the Octane; I’m pleased, it really has a different sound. I’m not sure it’s the clarity, the high output, or something else; all I know is that I plan to upgrade my neck pickup with another one of Tonerider’s pickup. The real debate for me is which one.
I recommend the Octane for the price, and the satisfaction from what I recieved out of it.

Highly Recommend

Can’t really fault this pickup for the money.

It definitely punches well above its weight. I put this in an inexpensive guitar because the stock pickups were a bit muddy and lost definition with drop tunings so these seemed like a good shout. They did exactly what I wanted from them and provide a lot more string definition and don’t turn to mush when hitting a thicker string gauge in drop D.

Comparing these to higher priced pickups, there might be qualities you like more from them but it’s not really because they’re better or worse, they all just sound different.

If you’re looking for something that’s pretty high output but doesn’t lose focus when you push them with thicker string gauges and has more of the Alnico feel these are a great option. They aren’t going to cost you a packet and going between these and other brands that cost more I don’t feel like I’m compromising. Glad I took a chance and tried these out, I’ll definitely look at Toneriders in the future now.

Love it. Perfect for downtuned riffing but holds up on cleans as well. I used it to replace the stock pup on a BC rich warlock standard that I use purely for B tuning. Recommended.
